Sam Bear on Expand and participate in National Service

National Service should not be mandatory, but the programs should be expanded and more American should volunteer to participate. Whether through the PeaceCorps, AmeriCorps, Teach for America, etc. there are so many opportunities for young Americans to give back and serve their country outside of the military.

There is also Senior Corps for people over 55! With such a large population of retiring baby boomers and so many problems to fix in this country, this group can have an incredible, positive impact on the future of America. (Think of it as a way of paying back the giant Social Security shortfall.)

These programs need to be expanded, though, and awareness must be spread!
