i feel that religion should be kept in schools, not as a source of spiritual authority, but as part of a more broad philosophy curriculum. i feel that most of the problems occur when the dominant religion (christianity in the u.s.) is taught from the platform that it is science, or that it is the only way to believe. its proper place is in a philosophy classroom, alongside daoism, eudaimonism, islam, and any other influential philosophical train of thought. as long as religion is not taught as a soul damning fact, but as one of many possible moral codes, i think teaching religion could be a very mind-broadening class.
