This is why....Separation of church and state. If it is a "public" school than no religion should be endorsed. You will always have "private" schools and well they can do whatever they want. You, the kids and parents, do have a choice on this topic Private = religion, Public = No religion. Pretty easy to follow

It depends on what context this idea is in - here are my thoughts:

-Religion should be taught ABOUT - that is, in the context of history, and so forth. Also, World or Comparative Religions courses should be maintained.

-No public school should excessively endorse or discriminate against any religion

-Students should be allowed to 'bring' their religions to school and not feel pressured to conform.

-Students should continue to be allowed to form religious societies through schools, such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, etc.

This statement is somewhat vague; does it mean take it out of science class? If so then I definitely support it. But if you're taking a class on, say, the history of religion or something, then that's something else.

I fully support Kitzmiller v. Dover; creationism, creation science and intelligent design have no place in public school science class.

I think that world religion classes should be taught in classrooms to give students a broad perspective, but teaching creationism or putting a Christian spin on subjects should not be allowed.

i feel that religion should be kept in schools, not as a source of spiritual authority, but as part of a more broad philosophy curriculum. i feel that most of the problems occur when the dominant religion (christianity in the u.s.) is taught from the platform that it is science, or that it is the only way to believe. its proper place is in a philosophy classroom, alongside daoism, eudaimonism, islam, and any other influential philosophical train of thought. as long as religion is not taught as a soul damning fact, but as one of many possible moral codes, i think teaching religion could be a very mind-broadening class.
