Not a Problem of Taste, A Problem of Time — 8 months ago
I don't know about everyone else, but I do enjoy an academic book that isn't just a fantasy novel. This isn't to mean a text book, but a thought provoking piece of work that broadens my horizons and (insert any other corny phrase here). My problem has always been that with all the books I have to read for school I don't have time to read these kinds of books for pleasure. In addition to that I don't even get through all the readings I'm assigned for class because of all my other obligations plus the important fact that no matter how much sleep I get I almost always fall asleep while I read. I got most of my extracurricular reading done during breaks and over the summer when I worked a 7:30-4:30 M-F. I'd get home from work and sit down with a book and read for awhile. I think this is one of those things that as much as I'd like to address the problem now, I think I'll just accept that I won't be able to make much progress until after I graduate and enter the workforce with a steady job. Sad day :(
