Shouldn't it be difficult though?
For a lot of first generation american kids, we know how hard it was for our parents to get citizenship and the years of work they put into doing things the legal way for us. I'm not sure if current illegal immigrants should necessarily be kicked out, but citizenship should not be something that can be easily gained. I'm not trying to sound like an elitist, just saying that you should have to earn your right to be a citizen of any country.

Illegal immigrants are people too. — 4 months ago
It is impractical and inhumane to suggest that the United States deport 12 million people, many of whom have spent their time here working hard and raising families...
so to me it makes sense that we create a way for these hardworking individuals to pay taxes and earn citizenship in the country where they have contributed to the economy and planted roots.
I understand the security issue and the reduction of wages and jobs, so it is also our responsibility to ensure that our borders are secure.
Both a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants and stricter border control should be priorities, and it seems to me that people do not pay enough attention to the immigration debate.
