I know it seems archaic to have such faith in familial systems, but I think a lot of important experiences occur in a family structure along with crucial things like education, socializing, support. The list is much more extensive than those three things, but you get the idea. As bad as some family situations can be, I think if our generation takes on this issue and prioritizes family and kids higher than some of our parents' generation the country would greatly benefit.
