Welcome to For A Better America. We’re so excited you’re here. This website is really about one thing: getting more Americans involved in the political process. We aim to do this by reformulating what it means to be “civically engaged” in order to better fit the activities of 21st century Americans. With For A Better America, we’ve tried to make it fun to be engaged. We’ve asked a question that every person in this country has at least one answer for (”What would you do to make America better?”), and we’ve made the process of answering that question interactive and collaborative.

Here’s a brief tour of just some of the other things you can do on this site:

1. Create, search, and browse ideas on our homepage.
2. Voice your approval or disapproval for an idea.
3. Add your thought to any idea, and comment on other user’s thoughts.
4. Tell our community what you are doing to support/oppose an idea with an action.
5. View popular actions, and organize a campaign by commenting on an action’s page.
6. Tag ideas and find related pages.
7. Comment on news and opinion stories on our Blog For A Better America.

As our site expands, that list will only get longer. We’re looking to do something special and we need your help. This site is about regular Americans finding solutions to problems that affect regular Americans. It’s not at all about partisanship or ideology. There are a lot of presidential candidates running around the country right now promising to bring “change” to Washington. It’s not that easy, though, and shame on them for implying that it is. REAL change isn’t delivered by one person or one party in Washington. REAL change can only occur through the influence and participation of the American public.
